38 Yo Male With Right Knee Injury From Trail Bike

38 yo male with right knee injury from trail bike fall Sunday. Hospitalized Wed with elevated temp, red swollen knee. 3 bags of IV vancomycin, redness has traveled to ankle and thigh. Scans neg for pus pockets. ID physician recommending Ortho MD do I&D. He feels conservative approach best course of action. Penicillin IV started this am, on second bag, vanc continues. Temp 102.3. Please advise.
