5 Years Ago I Incurred A Spinal Cord Injury. Since

5 years ago I incurred a spinal cord injury. Since then my bowels have been a bit messed up because I believe my midsection is partially paralyzed. Now very often I pass a mucus like substance as a bowel movement, sometimes by itself and sometimes with normal excretion. Is there a reason for this?
