62 Yr Old Female Caucasian, Type 1diabetic 45 Years, No

62 yr old female Caucasian, type 1diabetic 45 years, no obvious complications yet. 5'9" 155 lbs. no smoking, no recreational drugs, 1alcohol per week at most. Last ha1c 9.7. Have always had difficulty balancing glucose, insulin, food, exercise. I do my best. Never a low glucose where I needed help. Humalog and Lantus sliding scale averaging 5u per meal and 14u overnight.
Positional vertigo episodes 2-3 times per year, left ear.
Altitude sickness.
Some calcification of the carotid artery.
Post nasal drip.
Had a cold, sore throat, and viral bronchitis with hefty cough for the past 2 weeks. No fever.
Question... 4days ago while sitting in a chair my pulse soared to 175 beats a minute, stayed there for 45 minutes, then returned to usual 70-80. Since then I have had palpitations most of the time and I can heat my heartbeat in my left ear.
I already had an appointment with my PC Physician for this Friday, which I am looking forward to.
In the meantime I would be interested to hear thoughts from any Doctor who reads this.
