88yo w male with pacemaker, colostomy, metastatic prostate CA became suddenly disoriented and delusional. Lytes normal, ecg wnl for condition, hgb, hct wnl. same meds as for many years. Hospitalized placed on 2mg Haldol for agitation. No C scan done of brain . He was aware and functioning with some age related dementia days ago. Change is remarkable. No sign of stroke. Kidney's affected but no hypertension and passing urine. Community hospital family md wants palliaition and hospice with no neuro referral. thoughts?
