93 Year Old Woman. Active, Mobile, Has All Faculties. Pain

93 year old woman. Active, mobile, has all faculties. Pain and swelling in wrist and hand. Fingers began by tingling, then started aching at night, Dr does not think it's arthritis. Thumb especially painful. Was told to keep it immobile for a month. Did so. Taking Aleve for pain. Still hurts. Other hand okay. Looks puffy and very faint purple here and there. Hurts to be touched.
