A Few Days Ago I Noticed I Had A Few

A few days ago I noticed I had a few genital blisters. They are painless for the most part and don't really itch. They are located on only one side right around my underwear line between my thigh and vagina. I am concerned because about 7 months ago I slept with a guy that was a close friend and about 3 months ago I got told he had also slept with someone that had herpes. Is this possible to have herpes even though it's not painful?
