A Few Days Ago, My Husband Thought He Had An

A few days ago, my husband thought he had an infected hair on the left side of his lower stomach. He picked at it using tweezers. Tonight he can barely walk it hurts so bad. It has swelled so much it almost looks like a hernia. It looks like one large raw spot. Also there is a large hole that has developed where he thought the hair was and it is filled with brown & green pus. He is also running a fever. What do you think this is & what can I do for him.
