A Few Months Ago I Experienced A Sharp Pain Aprox

A few months ago I experienced a sharp pain aprox half an inch below my left earlobe when I opened my mouth. It lasted for ten seconds both times and couldn't close my mouth until after the pain subsided. Now a small pea sized lump has developed but the pain has not occurred since. Could it be a tumor?
