A Friend Had A Mini Maze Surgery On August 25th.

A friend had a mini maze surgery on August 25th. He had pulmonary complications, was put on a trache and spent 3 weeks in ICU. He's now in a rehab hospital and has been diagnosed with a damaged diaphragm during surgery. I've read about a procedure called diaphragm/phrenic nerve pacing that would enable him to recover from his condition. What would you recommend?
