A Month Ago, I Went To The Dentist With A

A month ago, I went to the dentist with a toothache and pain in gums on the left side. In two separate procedures, I had perio scaling and root planing done on my teeth. The most recent procedure was two weeks ago. I have been on doxy-cycline with medicated rinse, and yet I have been experiencing a lot of pain each day on my gums, inner cheek and at time on the roof of my mouth - all on the left side. I called my dentist but apparently the office is closed until March 7th. Can gum disease cause this much pain, even 2 weeks after the procedure? Any suggestions to help the pain? 600mg Advil just isn't touching the pain.
