A Surgeon Has Prescribed A Medrol Pack For Swelling Following

A surgeon has prescribed a medrol pack for swelling following hand surgery. It is a 6 day regiment. I also take 500 mg of Metformin a day for pre type II diabetes (A1C is 6.0) Is this a problem that I need to address with my internist? My internist does not have me check my daily blood sugar - the metformin is a proactive approach to keeping type II diabetes away. Additionally I take 50 mg of sertraline a day.
