About 10 Months Ago While Playing Basketball, I Took A

About 10 months ago while playing basketball, I took a knee to my penis, not a direct hit just more to the Right base of the penis. The next morning my wife and I got together and my erection had a bend or turn to the Left. Its now bent I estimate to 45 degrees. Its important to note that I was injured on the Right side and it now bends to the Left. This seems opposite of what I would think it should be. I did get checked out by a professional neurologists and they recommend a traction device, I refer to it as a mouse trap. I don't think its going to help me because my bend is too near the base and its nearly impossible to get the device to achieve a bend that near the base. I can still have sex but sometimes there is some pain during or after and my erection isn't as robust as it used to be. Is surgery the only fix here?
Thank you for your time.
