About 7 Years Ago I Had An Abnormal Pap And

About 7 years ago I had an abnormal pap and was diagnosed with HPV. They did a colposcopy and said it wasn't cancerous, and to keep having regular paps. After 7 years and many more abnormal paps, I still have precancerous cells. My ob/gyn seems to think it's not a big deal and told me to come back in a year for another pap, but she also said if HPV doesn't clear up on its own and the abnormal cells are still there, they will perform a procedure where they burn off the precancerous cells. She seems to be telling me two different things, and I'm not sure where to go from here.
