About A Week Ago, My Daughter Came Home From School

About a week ago, my daughter came home from school with a swollen finger The Dr. surmised that it may be a spider bite. The Dr. prescribed an oral antibiotic and asked for us to return in 2 days. When we returned, my daughter's finger was much less swollen and the Dr. could now see the location of the bite ;and, or puncture.
A few hours ago I noticed about 5 of what looked like bug bites or hives with jagged edges on the opposite hand. No swelling and not on fingers. Could this be an allergic reaction to the initial bite?
