About To Go To Bed, I Take A Large Vitamin

About to go to bed, I take a large vitamin pill (which is hard to take) and takes a few attempts to get to back of throat. This time something very odd happened, it felt as if the pill stopped and during a secondary swallow I began to violently cough which did not bring the pill back up. Worring the pill might have gone to lung. Tried to force vomit afterwards to bring up in case it did go to stomach, but no pill after 4 hard gag relfexs with stomach contents. What should be done?
