After A Fractured Shoulder 7 Weeks Ago, I Was On

After a fractured shoulder 7 weeks ago, I was on Oxcodone-Acetaminaphen 5/325 mg every 4-6 hours. for about six weeks, didn't like the side effects, (grogginess) and my doctor changed me to 50 mg Tramadol every 6-8 hours which I've been taking for about a week. Although the side effects are not as bad they are still bad enough that I wouldn't dare drive.. I'd like to stop taking the Tramadol, I started tapering down and got quite nauseous. When I was on Oxycodone 5 years ago after a knee replacement I went off cold turkey not knowing any better and I got very sick. How long and at what rate should I use to get off Tramadol?
