After A Miscarriage In November Last Year, My Daughter Is

After a miscarriage in November last year, my daughter is pregnant now.Her lmp is 16/9/2014. On consultation with a doctor, she is advised to take HCG injection and she took one last week. She has to take the injection tomorrow also. But I happened to read in internet that HCG injection is harmful to both the child and mother. So I am scared to proceed further. Kindly advise me for the course of action.
