After coming down with allergy symptoms of excessive sneezing and drainage 13 days ago, a cold ensued with plenty of mucus and nose blowing. For two days early on, I did run a slight fever, but that left; the cold is pretty much over although I do have occasional violent sneezing. When I do have the sneezing, a nose bleed will occur; in the beginning just small, stringy clots and lots of mucus. After 6 more days of this, I have a nosebleed at least once a day around the same time of day (@4-5 o'clock). It will last anywhere from 2 min to 15 min. I do take medication for HBP (Amlodopine 5mg+Bystolic 2.5 mg,) twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. I'm thinking that between damaging something in my sinuses, the intense sneezes (which includes a stinging feeling first and then a violent sneeze,) and probably needing BP medication in the evening much sooner (? what do you think?,) this will keep occurring unless something is brilliantly thought of to combat it/heal the sinuses. ADDITIONAL NOTE: I will add that I am a kidney patient (CKD) with 13% filtering function (GFR) and although I'm being monitored by a nephrologist, I do not take anything other than BP medication. I have no outward symptoms of my disease (no edema, no fatigue, no itching, no nothing other than elevated BP)
So, what medications have I taken for my cold/allergy during this bout? Each day, I have taken 1/8th of a dose of Corecidin HP, which exactly two pills total (one normal dose per day for any other healthy person); I've taken it for 8 days.
Ideas? I bought a cool mist humifier and a Neti Pot this evening, and plan to use them.
