Almost 2 Months Ago I Noticed A Red Rash Underneath

Almost 2 months ago I noticed a red rash underneath the top of my penis. I wouldn't say that I had lesions or blisters really. It is red, itchy, dry, peels but no pain. I think it came from a pocket pussy I was using for a while. My gf has been tested and she has nothing. I did change my shampoo for bout 3 weeks at that time as well "dried out my skin after a week". I also tried using gensind violet but it didn't do really anything. I'm worried it's herpes and very scared to get a test done. Would like advice, thank you
