An Optometrist Has Told Me That I May Have Optic

An optometrist has told me that I may have optic disc drusen but I am getting a scan in the coming weeks to find out. I'm a 16 year old female with very poor eyesight anyway, but this is the first time a doctor has told me of this. He didn't say much at the time, only that my nerve looked swollen/clumped together and it had the appearance of drusen. Now I've been looking this up but there's so much information that it's bogging me down. For example, there being two types of drusen, buried or superficial? Which is more serious and which is it I am more likely to have?
