Apples And Peaches Used To Make My Mouth Itchy When

Apples and peaches used to make my mouth itchy when I ate them - it never really bothered me and I always just powered through but a few weeks ago I ate a peach and I had a sudden reaction in my eyes so severe I had to go to the hospital. They were red and itchy and painful and swollen. It felt like sandpaper every time I blinked. It was horrible.
I just ate an apple and the same thing happened again. Less severe - but red and itchy and very suddenly.
I looked online and read that people with pollen allergies can be allergic to certain fruits as well "oral allergy syndrom" its called. but can this be affecting my eyes as well?? I do have spring time allergies.
