Approximately Every 4-6 Hours, I Experience Gas Buildup That Usually

Approximately every 4-6 hours, I experience gas buildup that usually requires getting on the toilet and "blowing" it out in what is often an "explosive" manner. A complication is that I have hemorroids. They used to subside/retract, especially at night, but now they seem to never retract, meaning that my bottom is nearly always "damp." Also, I suspect that my prostate is enlarged in that it was considered "top normal" 3 years ago. Can an enlarged prostate cause this gas blockage problem? Or is my problem likely to be gastro-intestinal? I am 68 years old. Normally in good health.
