Are Iron Tablets Helpful For Fatigue When Having Low Hemoglobin Levels?

Should I take iron for paleness and fatigue after being in the hospital diagnosed with anemia and low hemoglobin at 7.5 when released? I did receive 2 units of blood while in the hospital. I am taking vitamin B12 and folic acid as recommended by the hospital. I am trying to see my doctor but can t get in to see him for a while.
