Are Hives Related To A Fungal Infection?

My doctor just prescribed Nystatin for cholinergic urticaria. Could the hives be related to a fungal infection? Why then are they only triggered by rapid increases in body temperature? They usually only occur about once a year, but recently I've had them twice in 4 months.
