Are Painful Eardrums Associated With Recurring Cold?

I am having this for a few days. Whenever I am playing soccer and when my movements become rapid like when I am taking a shot towards goal my left eardrum seems to burst out..If i slow down, nothing is happening except a little pain and then its gone after a few hours. Is it due to recurring cold?
