Are Severe Abdominal Cramps Post Removal Of Copper Coil Normal?

Hi, I had a copper coil removed yesterday 20/03/15 after it was sitting really low and causing me alot of pain and discomfort i was advised it was on the move and looked like it was going to fall out if left any longer, i had unprotected sex on 15/03/15 so my doctor explained there was a small chance of pregnancy after having it removed. Tonight i have been having horrific abdominal cramps and i m not sure if this is the norm after having the coil removed? I did not have another fitted through fear of the same thing happening and going through the discomfort everyday. Should i be in this much discomfort after removal? Thank you
