Are The Swollen, Painful Hair Follicles On My Labia And The Swollen Anus Related To A Recent Vaginal Infection?
I am a 57 year old post-menopausal female. I recently had a vaginal infection - heavy liquidy discolored discharge no smell, no pelvic or abdominal pains. However there was vaginal burning and itching. As I am traveling abroad I got the European equivalent to Monistat to use, a personal hygiene wash and a douche gel. The infection is cleared up for the most part. But now my labia majora have what looks like swollen irritated hair follicles on either side and they are painful to touch as well a one on my labia minor. Additionally, my anus is swollen and painful. I think these are caused by the infection fluids touching these areas. Are these additional issues because of the infection or do I have a more serious issue?
