Are There Any Effective Treatments To Correct(cure) Peripheral Neuropathy Of

Are there any effective treatments to correct(cure) peripheral neuropathy of the feet? Can nerve damage be reversed?The drug prescribed by my MD,Gabapentin has some scary side effects and I believe doesn't cure the problem just relieves the symptoms. I am not diabetic and have had symptoms of tingling,numbness and pain spasms of the toes for about a year. My MD tested my legs electrically and determined there was a neuropathy below the ankle.
