Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As of Thursday my A1C is 6.2 and my doctor wants me to do the Bydureon injections; I did the first one on Thursday and it went fine but reading the side effects makes me a bit nervous to continue. My A1C has been at 6 or so for the past 2 years, so 6.2 is high for me, but wondering if I can control this with diet and exercise? She wants to see me again in 3 months for more blood work. I am 60 yrs old, have high b/p and high cholesterol; I take meds for both. I weigh 254 and am 5'6" tall. I feel like the weight is from menopause and lack of real exercise ~ she mentioned insulin resistance as the reason for the weekly injections. It's all very confusing and quite scary~ thanks for your help. ~Karen
