A,week Ago I Woke Up In Middle Of Night With

A,week ago I woke up in middle of night with a strange nauseous feeling. It's tough to explain.. then immediately my heart just starts hammering out of control. It was scary. I got up walled around the house trying to calm down. It eventually calmed down. Then it didn't happen again. But tonight it happened again. Identically. Are these panic attacks or something else?
