Ballet Student Here. 45, Intermediate Level, 2 Classes Per Week

Ballet student here. 45, intermediate level, 2 classes per week plus Classical Stretch twice a week. I am very bendy. Did splits with left leg forward after class one week ago on Thursday. My left hip popped like a knuckle and I went from 3" off ground to completely flat. (Usually I work at it to get flat.) No pain, just loud crack and sore. Complete rest except walking, ice, heat & Advil until Tuesday class. At the end of class after workout, left hip flexor hurt. Pain is intermittent and moves around from back of leg to IT band to hip flexor then goes away completely. My hair is normal unless hip flexor hurts, then a slight limp.

Still icing/resting/Advil. Not even sure where to ice. Leg length is the same, left hip maybe slightly weak. I have snapping hip (internal) on that side, and pain is more of an ache than anything. Beighton score 7 or 9 (I am strong enough to not hyperextend knees) usually do not stretch or do splits but when I do, no problem. Trigger points in pectineus. Hamstring tendon maybe? Thanks, Jennifer
