Bleeding From The Back Of My Throat... I Looked Down

Bleeding from the back of my throat... I looked down in the mirror with a light and i think there are lumps.... The dr had looked in my through though and sent me for a chest X ray which found nothing and he has put me on lansoprazol for a stomach ulser... but im sure now its coming from the back of my throat and maybe upwards a bit... Im bringing up more each day and I've been like this for a few months now and im scared out of my mind that its throat cancer like my grandad had.... I had been a heavy drinker but at 37 I have calmed down loads and I smoke lightly also... I know these things are what caused my grandads condition so I really sdo want some advice please on what to do... I'm going to book an emergency appointment in a couple of hours because im really scared.
