Can Acetaminophen Be Repeated For Pain Relief?

i am taking hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg bt every 6 hrs, after 4 hrs or 1n between the 6 hrs, can I take additional acetaminophen 500 mg to help relieve pain. 6 hrs is a long time, cant bear pain after 4 hrs for the next hydrocodone...thank you.
