Can Acetaminophen Be Substituted With Vicodin For Pain Relief?

Yes, several years ago I received Vicodin as a pain reliever which worked very well for me. I have not taken this drug for several years. Now when I ask for Vicodin, I get Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen which does not work well for me. What has happened here?
