Can Claritin Be Taken For Itching On Body?

I am 80 years old and recently diagnosed with Non hodgkin Lymphoma. I have severe itching all over my body for 24 hours a day and no relief. My oncologist has precribed Cetzine which is once a day and that is not helping much. Will Claritin help? Do you have any additional suggestions. I also have severe weight loss. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks
