Can Copper-T Coil Be Inserted While On Birth Control Pills?

I am currently on cerazette, five days from finishing my second pack/month and I hate it.

So I saw my GP and he suggested I have the copper coil. But I can't get a consultation appointment for a week and I am finishing my pill pack in 5 days.

What should I do? Start another pack? Can the coil be fitted on the pill?
If I have to have a period to have it fitted, I am worried it takes a long time to get my period back after finishing cerazette.
