Can Fucidin Be Used On Cold Sores Above The Eyelid?

hi I have a nasty cold sore on my lip that my doctor has prescribed me fucidin cream 2% to use on my lip three times daily and because I rubbed my cold sore and touched my eye lid my eye lid has swollen up and doctor told me to rub this cream on eye lid as well but have read that you shouldn t get near eyes can I use this on eye lid ? Thanks
