Can I Cut A Relafen Tablet In Half And Take

Can I cut a Relafen tablet in half and take just the half instead of the whole tablet? My doctor prescribed these for low back inflammation a few days ago and I'm better but still not completely healed. I'd like to take half instead the whole tablet to see if my inflammation is lessening on it's own and not just being controlled by the pills, yet I don't want to stop them completely for a couple more days.
