Can I Safely Delay Starting Antibiotics For Suspected Pharyngitis With Mild Symptoms And Pus On Tonsils?

Good afternoon, I went to the MD Now today and doctor said that he believe I have pharyngitis, and I do need a course of antibiotics. I have not started yet. I have low 99-99.7 fever for the past 5 days. First my body had a huge rash all over, which went away in 3 days and after cough started to form. But throat is not extremely sore, it just has white small puss dots on tonsils. I have been gargling salt and baking soda warm water. After a night of sleep fever goes down but get back up after. I worry about the throat having puss, but I would not say I feel so sick that I can’t go about my day. I am trying to get pregnant now and really do not want to mess with bacterial flora. How long can I wait to see if I really need antibiotics. Doctor said he does not believe in step throat test and I should just do the course. Thoughts?
