Can I Stop Metformin And Insulin Due To Leg Swelling And Switch To A Natural Diet Or Supplements?

I have been taking metformin for 1 1/2 yrs and insulin for 4 months for diabetes. Since then I have swolen legs. they want me to go for a cat scan to look at peripheral vascular. I read metformin and insulin can cause problems. I would like to stop taking everything and try a natural diet or supplement program. can you recommend any?
