Can I Take Benadryl If I Have Bacterial Pneumonia. I

Can I take benadryl if I have bacterial pneumonia. I have an absess in my right longue that has been slowly regressing. However after taking levofloxacin 500mg once a day and clindamyacin 150mg @ 3capsules 3 times daily for 16 days I developed edema in my lower extremities on both sides along with bruising and some sort of rash. Ive been to the ER and they discontinued my antibiotic treatment temporarily due to a posible allergic reaction. Can I take benadryl because I need something so I dont make my legs worst by scratching them.
