Can Ibuprofen Be Taken For Sore Throat And Cough?

Hi, the past few days I came down with a fever, sore throat, a light cough and an occasional stuffy nose. My school doctor prescribed me Cefaclor 500 mg yesterday, as I did not have body aches, so they ruled out flu like symptoms. I am instructed to take 3 pills a day, and have taken 2 yesterday and 2 so far today, expecting to take one later. I feel as if my symptoms are not getting any better, and may be even worse. I am very cold almost all of the time in normal temperatures. Is there anything else I could take such as Ibuprofen or Benadryl?
