Hi, my 18 year-old daughter recently started Lo Loestrin Fe (Warner Wilcott) birth control pills 7 days ago. She missed one pill Friday, and so took two pills on Saturday, and then took one pill at her regular time this Sunday morning (as instructed in the PI). Four hours later, she began having a pins and needle pain sensation in her left leg. She does not have any other complaints, has no risk factors & does not take any other medication. Like many other teens, she does not have the best diet regime (lacks fruits, veggies and whole grains, 2 servings of milk), but is otherwise a healthy and physically active teenager. Could her pins and needle pain sensation be due to inability to take the higher dosage of (3) birth control pills within a 24 hour period, poor diet lacking essential vitamins and minerals, or possibly due to blood clots caused by the birth control pills or is it too soon? Should we seek emergency treatment for this symptom?
