Can Marvelon Give Protection Against Pregnancy?

Hello, I have taken a break from taking Marvelon and have decided to restart taking it today. My period is not due for another day or two. I realise this is not ideal - should I wait for my period to start (will it still come?) and continue taking the pills as normal or should I continue taking the pills as normal (and if so, do I need to use additional metehods of contraception and for how long?)
