Can Polysporin Dissolve Sutures Post Surgery?

i had a parathyroidectomy 10 days ago and my stitches have not yet dissolved. it seems they are at both ends and i thinlk throughut the incision. i am very nervous with this so i am afraid to check to closely. is there anything i cando to help with the dissolving, instructions from my doctor to put polysporin on wound. does this help with dissolving stitches or just the healing. oh , he didnt tell me to do this for dissolving the stitches its just a common procedure after the steistrips come off
