Can Septran Be Taken For An Infected Boil On Foot?

Hi. i got a heat boil {i guess} on my right foot, i neglected it initally for a week and then later kept cream and bandage,it subsided but since it was touching my chappal, it again came up and there is puss now coming out, doctor advised me to take septran,is it good?
