Can A Mirena Coil Be Inserted During Mid Cycle?

hello im due to have a mirena coil put in on tuesday.im on the pill and my doctor told me not to stop taking it i havent had a period can i still have the coil put in.i read you need to be on your period or at the end of it to have it inserted.also i have come down with a cold in the last few days can i still have it done .thankyou
