Can A Lacerated Lip Scar With Bulging Be Treated Completely?

Hi, I suffered a serious laceration to my upper lip approx 10 months ago, I underwent surgery to have it reattached (my top lip was spit almost up to my nose and a flap like piece hung down). The scar above my lip line has healed to almost invisible but the scar on my lip is still really bad and bulges out. Will this heal in time or do you think I should speak to a plastic surgeon. I am a young woman and care alot about my looks.
