Can A Parathyroid Gland Be Transplanted In The Arm?

I have a parathyroid tumor on the right lower side. I talked with a surgeon. She says because I had my thyroid removed that I probably only have one parathyroid gland. She wants to perform a 2 -3 hour surgery. Then take a piece of the parathyroid gland and transplant it in my breast or arm. I feel she is just speculating when she said probably. I feel like she is jumping the gun. What do you think?
