Can A Person Be Lupus But Then The Lupus Goes

Can a person be lupus but then the lupus goes away and a test shows that they are not Lupus? My child was diagnosed with a condition when she was five years old. The heart condition is usually associated with babies born to Lupus mothers. I was tested for Lupus but at that time test proved negative for lupus. Although I have had symptoms that I think can be associated to Lupus.
